It uses full length metal edges, which is really a nod to its intended use. Full length metal edges give you great control on a wide variety of terrain. On icy terrain you can hold an edge really well, which helps boost confidence when exploring tricky new terrain. This allows you to get out into the backcountry without feeling worried that your skis might not live up to the challenge of off piste skiing. The BC 70 also has a tall camber zone under foot, which helps boost its ability on groomed terrain.
